: I've been participating in California's STOCKTON ASPARAGUS FESTIVAL since 1986. Each year, I create a new drawing that pairs cats and asparagus in interesting and whimsical ways.
Please bear with me...This page is my first attempt to reorganize my website to make it easier to find the cats you want! These images are arranged by the year in which they were created, starting with the most recent.

"BUMPS ON A LOG"

People always ask me how I come up with my ideas, and I usually credit my cats. This piece is no exception.

We stayed home more during the winter of 2010. The fires burned to keep us warm, and the rains lulled us into the tranquil appreciation of not having to leave the house. It was a time to enjoy our lives together - Michael, the Cats, and me. While I concentrated on making new drawings, Michael handled the domestic and business ends of our life. And the Cats? I looked on them, doing nothing but sleeping on the couch, like bumps on a log.

As I said that to myself, I saw these funny little felines in my mind's eye, ten of them, one for each year of the new decade, the Chinese Year of the Tiger. And the log? Why not an asparagus spear, in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Asparagus Festival? For these guys, it's better than a log!

I looked back to the couch: There was Java looking like a regal tiger, Gracie (my little lady bug!), and Kukui curled up like a snail. Just "Bumps on a Log"...

"Bumps on a Log" is available in two sizes: Small = 4 3/4" x 10 1/4" unframed

Large = 6 1/2" x 19" unframed

Each limited edition giclee is hand numbered and signed by the Artist and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. Each edition is limited to 250

"ASPARACATS GONE WILD"

Celebrating the 2009 Stockton (CA) Asparagus Festival, this image has been released in 2 sizes.

The small size is limited to an edition of 250 and comes double matted to 8" x 10".

The large size is limited to an edition of 100, has 4 hand-deckled edges and measures 10" x 14".

Each print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

"ON THE PROWL"

Over the last year, I've had numerous requests for black cats with green eyes. This image evolved from an abstract design composed ONLY of green-eyed black feline faces, all shapes, sizes, and orientations. To me, it looked like olives floating in a sea of blue-black retro-shapes! It's the most abstract design I've created in years!

At the time, the Stockton Asparagus Fesival was getting closer, and I needed to develop my yearly drawing. The magic happened the morning I saw our first crop of wild asparagus growing next to our rosemary bush, with Java and Gracie looking through the spears...

"ON THE PROWL" is a giclee reproduction of my original colored pencil drawing. It is limited to two editions of 250 each. Both are printed on 100% Osprey rag paper with fade resistant inks.

The larger "ON THE PROWL" is the size of the original drawing. The overall dimensions are 11" x 15"; the image measures 7 1/4" x 11". The smaller edition measures 6 1/2" x 8 1/2"; the image measires 4 3/8" x 6 1/2". Each print is signed and numbered in pencil by the Artist, and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

Designed to commemorate the 2007 Stockton Asparagus Festival, "ASPARAPUSS" is the 20th in my Cat-and-Asparagus Series. Both editions are limited to 100 in each size. Each print is hand signed and numbered in pencil by the Artist, and is accompanied by a Certificate on Authenticity.
