"A Lot on His Mind" could well be my most current self-portrait. It was drawn in August, 2011. Suffice it to say that our summer was filled with events and issues that had to be dealt with on a prioritized, daily level...
Besides attending shows on both sides of the country, there were flight schedules, hotel reservations, and long-term parking for "Irene", the name earned by our Toyota Sienna. (She braved the East Coast on her own for 6 weeks, amid a heat wave, earthquake, tornadoes, flooding, and Hurricane Irene!)
And two new cats joined our family: "Whoopi", a 3-year old black tortie and her companion "Suzy Q", an 8-year old tortie Maine Coon mix. We all are learning to adapt in our own unique ways.
I had a lot on my mind!
During these weeks, I was blissfully distracted by the house finches who "rented" the nest on our back porch railing. Watching them go through their little bird lives proved better than any aspirin...
